Dr. Matt James keeps it real today: yes, connecting to your why gives you energy, but we still live in a world where you have to grind. That’s just fact.
The key isn’t avoiding the grind. It’s finding the small moments inside it, five minutes of coffee outside, grilling steaks, sitting on a balcony, to ground and rebalance yourself. With back-to-back travel ahead (Houston → a brand-new training he’s never taught before → solo for 5 days → a 3am flight to teach in Hilo), Dr. Matt is being intentional about grounding himself now, because even when you’re living your purpose, burnout is still possible.
The takeaway: purpose doesn’t make you immune to burnout. You still have to build in the moments that ground you, even if it’s just 5 or 10 minutes.
Shout out to the team (Karl, Ethan, Britt) holding down San Diego this week, much appreciated!
