What is NLP?

Create Positive Changes Immediately and Effectively

What is NLP?
Neuro-Linguistic Programming is best understood by taking each part and breaking it down. Watch the video here or keep reading to learn what NLP is and why it is used by the most successful people in the world today.

Neuro simply means you’re neurology, the physical components as well as the mental and emotional components. Linguistics pertains to the language that you use, and more specifically, how you communicate with others and more importantly how you communicate with yourself. What do you say to yourself inside? What type of pictures do you make in your mind? What sort of feelings do you have? And finally, programming. Many people simply don’t care for this word, but keep in mind, NLP was invented in the 70’s when computer programming was really big. So a better way to think about this part of NLP is to think of programming as installing a new app on your existing operating system that you can utilize immediately to create change in your life. Or, think of it as upgrading your operating system, similar to your smartphone. That’s what NLP is really all about – getting new programming or “apps” installed, or upgrading the operating system that already exists so that you are able to make positive changes quickly and easily.

Thoughts, Beliefs and Emotions…Oh My
Have you ever questioned whether or not we have free will? Take, for example the smoker. A smoker lights up a cigarette, and says “I should quit.” Well, why don’t they? If we have free will, and if we have that level of control over our minds, we would just quit instantly, like that, be done with it. But we don’t quit. Why not? The reason why we don’t stop bad habits or start a healthy one is because we don’t know how our operating system works. We are not aware of the programming running our thoughts, emotions, behaviors and beliefs. Think of NLP as a user manual for your conscious and unconscious mind that allows you to install new apps so that you can make important changes instantaneously, create the results that you want, and achieve your goals – all of which results in happiness. NLP is modeled after people who have created the best results and is used by some of the most successful people in the world today, like Tony Robbins, Oprah Winfrey, Russell Brand and J.K. Rowling.

Upgrading Your Operating System
The question to ask yourself is who’s running the show when it comes to your life? Are you aware of and in control of your thoughts and emotions? Are you able to quickly and easily change a habit or incorporate a new one? How do you talk to yourself about your goals, dreams and habits? NLP offers you an opportunity to explore your operating system, to learn how your mind and emotions work in achieving goals, to let go of negative emotions, and to release limiting beliefs, behaviors and thoughts so you can create a mindset that help you achieve lasting results.
